How Do you make a Website?

Hi, Want to start my own Website, but dont know how to start.

I Googled it but all i got was websites that make websites and they require you use therecompany.com And i dont want that any idea on jsut get the www.yourwebsite.com? Answeres are Much apreciated

It's called a domain, you have to pay for a website, I think it can be yearly or monthly. Search up 'Website Domains' on google and you have to check if your website is available.

There's 2 Options,
Option A: You buy a domain and probably hosting
Option B: You use a free site to make your own site

So, how do you make the actual site?
1. You can learn about HTML which is a base for sites at W3Schools Online Web Tutorials
2. You use FrontPage (Express maybe) and use a hoster that
got the Frontpage Extension turned on so you can use FrontPage
to upload the created html sites you have made.
3. You download pre-made sites which you can design, such ones can be:
- Smart Machine Forum or SMF, google it (that's a forum and its free)
- PHPBB aka PHPBulletinBoard, google it
(that's a quite unsafe forum board but its free)
- Joomla, google it (that's for front sites and it's free)
- PHPNuke, google it
(that's for front sites as well but not that safe though its free)

And that's how you started making your own site ^^

Now, if you want your own domain, i suggest doing it at 1&1 Internet Inc. - Web Hosting Services and Domain Name Registration
as it's the best and cheapest, thus they're allways answering fast.
They offer cheap hosting as well, and offer way more than godaddy.com does.

Now, keep in mind that domains are paid for minimum 1 year, but it's quite cheap.
Hosting on 1and1 is paid for on 6month basis, though it's quite cheap if you compare
to what you have used of money on playing world of warcraft.

PS: It's not allways a good idea to steal other people's avatars if they're a hacker ^^

Yeah if you want a free website you can use freewebs.com or geocities.

If not then you have to pay for a domain name

you just gotta google "Free hosting" and you'll find WAY BETTER

I started out just fooling around on freewebs. now i use a site called spoonohost. I've been doing web and some graphic design now for a few years, so i would recommend starting with something basic, then just working your way up. Photoshop Tutorials, Flash Tutorials and More! P2L Tutorial Search is AWESOME for tutorials. start out with html, then some css, and slowly incorporate them together. (wow, sounds a lot like cooking, eh?)

Wow, is that a premade template? Looks nice so far!
I was also going to ask what ISP you use, most of them include a free website, which usually sux, but also ftp space, so if you can utilize some of that, you wont eat up so much of your free web spot.

Ahh well, as far as I remember, been a few years, they give you a free site and some FTP space. I wouldn't put any graphics there, as that will slow up your page load, but files and such, if allowed, would mean more space.
Wish I could help ya out more site wise but the only one of those I play is WOW. Do you actually play all those games you list? Or are you doing this with friends?
