If you are searching for a way to "make" the scammed account "your" account, then I suggest changing all it's informations which are changeable to make them more similar to your's.

Lol, well when you got all info for a account, what is the first thing YOU do ?

Log onto it, sell all the gear and crap, mail off the gold and sell it for real life $$ as fast as possible.

If the email has already been changed to your email, the what you do is change all the contact information (phone number & address), and then change the password if you can. Also, if you have the money, transfer the character to a different server, and do the little trick where before you transer your character to the realm you want, you make a level 1 on the server you're about to transfer with the same name as the character you scammed. This forces you to change the name of the scammed character to something else. And that should do it
