Sci-fi tv series

So, I am a huge sucker for sci-fi shows and preferably a bit of horror in it too.

However, here in Denmark we don't get many of the other tv-series that are awesome. Therefore, I would like to hear from you what you can recommend me for a new show to watch, NO ANIME! It doesn't really matter if the show is old (read 90's and up). I have watched the following so don't suggest those.
Also upcoming shows are ok (as in released soon)

It's not sci-fi but it's one of the best tv shows I've seen, I strongly recommend Games of Thrones. Think of it like Lord of the Rings mixed with a couple of other random shows and you'll have this.

I actually did watch heroes at the beginning but then stopped after season 1 i think. Might have to pick it up again!

Can't believe no one mentioned Firefly. It's only one season and feature film, but boy oh boy, it delivers more than some that have loads of seasons/episodes.
Also second Farscape. Star Wars Underworld is what I am waiting for but no idea when would it become available.
Of course there are also Star Trek, Doctor Who and mentioned above Battlestar Galactica. Those have enjoyable episodes from both previous and current century.
