I don't know how it is in the US, but where I live, you won't get a job with only a high school diploma.

depends, ITT Tech or a community college? com colleges are good for entering into a university and portfolio. ITT Tech type of degree gives you more saying power to employers.

For anything design you got to put yourself out there or have one hell of a portfolio and still have yourself out there for the bigger fish.


in reference to a field i was interested in, during high school i attended a tech community college and it would have barely gotten me A+ cert and the stuff for further certifications, but i found there was no way those things would float me.
i would need a 2+ year degree from a university to get anywhere decent. So i left the IT side and went for the art side to a 3 year uni for game design and created an LLC for some pre requis in field experience. (IE: blizzard requirements etc is 2 years in the field with a shipped title)

so 3 year program + 2 years and more of owning my own company working on small game projects for experience, will allow me to apply where i want from blizzard to epic due to the bachelor of science i am getting from the university. with the option of getting my masters of fine art for an extra 1.5 years dependent on how my company does when i graduate.


so gotta clue us in what did you attend, whats the degree specification and how are you approaching to getting the job in the first place?

also blizzard is being used due to their requirements are pretty much the same to any major game company and my thought process to fulfilling those requirements before i even graduate.

It's not. You won't get a job if you just do online applications. Call and visit companies and you'll get one.
