    computer wont boot.. help me!

OK so I left my computer running for the night botting..... came back the next morning to find that it was turned on (the fans were running and the lights on the case were on) but the keyboard was unresponsive and there was nothing on the display.

I turned it off and then back on again.... same thing happened, the fans spin and the lights come on, and the keyboard flashes on for a sec, but then nothing. Below is my system specs and everything I have tried so far.

I think my mobo is fried.. but Id like some confirmation and possible alternate solutions to that.

    Custom PC (built it myself)
    4 GB DDR2
AMD Athlon 64x2 at 3.02ghz OCd
    NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT Pro 1GB
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Im running a BIOSTAR board but I dont remember the model number off the top of my head.

WHAT HAVE I TRIED SO FAR?

1- Replaced power supply with another one I had lying around that is confirmed working.. didnt help

2- Replaced CPU with another AM2 socket processor that i had lying around... didnt help

3- Removed RAM... did the exact same thing even with no ram slotted..... put in 1 stick at a time and got the same results with each individual stick (4 sticks 1GB each)

4- Removed the backup battery from the mobo and held power button to wipe memory... made no difference

5- Removed video card and tried to run my monitor off the onboard DVI port.... same thing

    any other ideas?

    is my mobo shot?

This isnt a huge deal as I can get another mobo easy enough.. mine was a cheapo anyway. but I dont want to buy another mobo and find out that isnt my problem.

im a fairly hardware savvy person and I cant figure out any other option here...

    thanks
    -7it

seems like your mobo has died, biostar isnt exactly the best producer out there.

could be your video card or both of your ram sticks too.

it isnt the video card.... I removed the video card and it still wont boot.

dont think its the RAM either as I have 4 sticks (doubt their all dead) and I tried them all seperately.

I agree on the mobo thing tho.. just confirming
and ye.. BIOSTAR is crap.. it was a temporary solution anyway thats why im not that ticked if its shot

Have you ever bothered reading the stickies?

Good luck fixing your comp anyways.

I've had this problem with several computers.
It's the case of a internal error in the Motherboard, for some reason the RAM slots have gone to hell.
Would suggest replacing Motherboard/RAM, should fix it.

Take your Video card out. If you have a on board one, it will revert to that and thus confirm if it is the video card or not. Aso, try and connect to another monitor maybe. If all else fails it could be the MOBO unfortunately. GL
