2*5 = 10
10 + 5 = 15
15*50 = (10+5)*50 = 500+250 = 5*100+ 250
5*100 + 250 + 1760 = 5*100 + 2010
5*100 + 2010 - 1970 = 5*100 + 40
5*100+40 = 540

Yeah, that should work.

5*100 + 250 + 1760 = 5*100 + 2010
5*100 + (2010 + x) - (1970 + y) = 5*100 + 40 + (x - y)
5*100 + 39 + (x -y)= 540 + (x - y)

x being the current day of the year (ignoring leap years) in the form of z/365 (with a natural z from {1,1, ..., 365})
y the day of your birth
So: -1 < x-y < 1
