    PS3 - Video Settings

    Hey guys!

Unfortunately my friend is a retard obviously. This Friday he was at my house touching everything... seriously. I noticed him pushing the start button on my ps3 over and over and I was like what the **** are you doing, hadn't tried starting it until today and all I get is a big box saying "Not optimum mode, recommended mode 1680x1050 60Hz" I've tried resetting the video settings by holding the start button until the second beep but still doesn't work what should I do?

    Thanks in advance!

Just hold the button for a couple of seconds after the 2nd beep, that's what I do when I switch from HDMI - Regular and vice versa.
    Just have to keep trying.

My PS3 is connected to my monitor via VGA. The thing is it has worked for a half year now without any problems and as I said, it might have been the reset that made it unusable that is if the defaults does not go along with my monitor

forgot to say that he should turn it off completely first, then try a different cable or TV...
    1. Turn it off complete
    2. Turn it on and hold IO button for 5 secs.
    3. see if it helps.

I'm not using a TV because I don't have the required cables, I am using the same monitor as for my computer
