[FPS problem]] FPS is going down, help!

    hello n stuff

i have a problem that is driving me incredibly insane...
sometimes when i play world of warcraft regulary, like every other day, my frames decrease drasticly to 0 or 1 for about 15seconds. this happens randomly but in, lets say 1-2 hours of gameplay at least 1 time...

i already tried all the "logic" ways to fix it like running repair.exe, deactivating all addons, decrease graphics, downloading the newest shit for graphiccards etc.
i already lost a couple of arena matches due to this and I don't know what to do, PLEASE help me!

everyone who is delivering a solution will of course be rewarded with reputation (up to 4)

    Could be anything.
    Try:
*Scanning your computer for virus, adware, malware etc
    *Updating / Reinstalling your drivers
    *Uninstall unneeded programs
*Check the temp of your CPU / Graphics card etc
*Clean your computer from dust and other crap
*Check so your fans are going CORRECTLY

If you haven't in a while, I REALLY recommend formating.
Your computer gets slower and slower, it's needed to do this once now and then.

gonna try everything out you said, thanks, +rep!
but I'd like to hear other solutions

oh and one thing... i don't see that massive fps decrease on any other game (assasins creed, halo2 n stuff)
wow itself should be causing the problem

    Thanks self :].
Sorry by the way, didn't see that you already tried some stuff there.
Sounds wierd.. WoW is a pretty heavy game (pretty - get me right), but WoW is WoW, and it's known for it's problems.

Try deleting the cache folder (I don't know if repair.exe still does it - worth a shot.), and if that doesn't help, try to reinstall WoW, it doesn't take that long if you use the WOTLK cd, some few patches only then.

How much RAM do you have?
You might be running out of memory causing things to slow down.

Also try this. Press ctrl+alt+del, task manager, processes, right click wow.exe and select 'set affinity' select all 2(or 4) cores. see if that makes a difference. If its already on all of them change it to just 2 of them or just the first core.

Sounds like graphics card overheat or something along those lines. Clean your computer?

here's a macro I found a while back that really helped, there was a video link that explained in better detail what each line does, but I cant find the bookmark.

    Code:
    /console groundEffectDensity 256
    /console groundEffectDist 140
    /console detailDoodadAlpha 100
    /console horizonfarclip 2112
    /console farclip 777
    /console characterAmbient
    /console smallcull 0
    /console skycloudlod 3
    hope it helps

Backup your wtf folder. As far as I'm aware that macro only affects the config file in there, it's basically a way to customize the settings further than with just the in-game settings menu.
