I got [sort of] scammed?

I'm not really sure if this is the right post to put this. I'm not really asking for sympathy or anything of the sort. I just want to inform people of the type of *******s on this forum like killalots.

Over a month ago, this user messaged me to do web design work for his World of Warcraft guild. I was a bit surprised because I'm not known on this forum but I was assuming this came from the fact that I did some web design work for mager1974 on this forum earlier.

Everything was going ok I guess, I went through my usual process of asking how it should look, what colours/style he wanted. Then I created a design and made changes as necessary.

Then things started to get a little bit interesting. Once I finished the XHTML/CSS portion of it (before I port it to Wordpress), I confirmed once more if he was able to pay for my services (the price of which I will not disclose here for privacy purposes). He agreed and so I continued to port it.

Since that conversation I have not seen him since on MSN, despite him being regularly online (everyday in fact). I understand that something is up, and check his activity on MMOwned. Interestingly the time that I checked he had activity just a few hours ago. This made me wonder, why wouldn't he be on MSN but on MMOwned he has activity. So I send him a PM to see what's up.

He PMs me back like this:

I'm rather distressed about this message, and allow me to 'apologise' first off.

I was rather surprised to find myself on a plane to 'Bermuda' in a matter of two days, after my fellow co-worker came down with a rather nasty case of 'Swine Flu'. I was offered thier ticket and room in a hotel, so rather without thinking took it - Note: I did not have to pay a cent.

This is why I've been 'out of action' the past couple of days. I've been pre occupied with my family here, consequently, I've not been on either MSN or Mmowned.

It has indeed been rather rude, for which again, I'm sorry. It was a spur of the moment thing.

I shall reply to your next message ASAP. I don't return to 'England' until the 18th - So please don't be offended if you don't hear from me til then.

Really, by then I just didn't care. The story has bullshit written all over it. Not realizing that he was on a plane to Bermuda, and that his co-worker had swine flu? What co-worker? He bragged that he worked as a professional musician.

Now of course, there would be the need of an incentive in place to hook you in too such a proposal. Due to my high expenditures and fairly inadequate income (Did I mention I'm a professional musician) Money will be hard too come by the next couple of days, but thats not too say it is off the table. In the meantime, , love and cookies (Please allow 2-3 weeks for arrival)

I'd like to repeat, I don't want any sort of sympathy or "sharing my pain" or any of that stupid crap. I just want to let people know who this ******* is so people don't make the same mistake I did.

TLDR: killalots asked me to do a website for him. Once I was done and asked him to pay up he disappears. Basically wastes my time & energy and I'm letting people know who he is so that they can avoid having to go through what I went through.

I doubt he really meant he suddenly woke on a plane to Bermuda. It's saying, meaning an event occurred unexpectedly, and the consequence was that he had to go to Bermuda. And why can't musicians have coworkers? Still, it does seem fishy.
