Hai MMOwned !
This is a new app i just wrote like 5 minutes ago, but it is really fun to messa round with. It's called ASCII Art Maker. (Not really a pro naming job, but it works). What it does basically, is take a text string you give it, sizes it according to your choice and generates ASCII art from it. You can also choose what characters it uses for the art from 5 options:
Code:
0 = ALL ASCII CHARACTERS
1 = NUMB3ERS
2 = ALPHABET
3 = SYMBOLS
4 = MINIMAL
5 = BINARY CODE ( 1's and 0's )
The art is saved as a text file. If i get time later, i will modify the binary so it can do images too.
HOW IT WORKS:
The AutoIt GUI I designed sends command line arguments to img2ascii.exe a binary i didnt write fully, but modified quite a bit. It then catches the output of the binary and writes it to a file. This can be done with run or a batch file using the following arguments passed to img2ascii.exe. You cannot save your art when you use this method, unless you have a way to catch the stdout stream of the application.
Code:
-argument "DEFAULT VALUE" Description
-g "79x40" Image output size
-invert "" If passed the binary will put the text as a cutout in a wall of ASCII.
-msg " EPIX ! " The text to write
