    Windows 7 - x86 or x64

    Hey,

Decided to download myself a copy of Windows 7 RTM, but then I hit a road block, should I get x86 or x64, here are my important computer specs

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+
    2GB RAM
    Nvidia 8600 GT

My main thought was not to go x64 because my RAM is quite low considering todays standards + my wireless card didnt have support for x64 which could end up in me getting in a pickle which I dont want. I was just wondering what all your thoughts might be?

    Thanks.

regardless of how low your ram is, your CPU is 64 bit optimized and running a 64 bit OS will have an increased performance compared to a 32 bit OS. unless your system is a laptop, id flunk the wireless card and go with the 64 bit OS until some 64 bit drivers come out for the card.

your gonna need all the performance boost you can get running that ancient 4000+ anyways.

I'm running 64bit, only problems I'm having are some application settings don't get saved, this might be a permissions thing on my end but otherwise everything is great. I like this more than Vista and will def buy it when it comes out.

Yep, anywho I decided on x86, just seemed the right thing to do, no justified reason really. But doesnt really matter as ill probably be getting a new computer soon anyway.

Ya I noticed my comp getting sluggish lately, and was going to reformat with XP as I have done many times. My friend told me to try out 7, but then I realized my computer is really out of date. AMD X2 5600+ / 2gb RAM. Hell, my hackint0sh has more RAM then my desktop. So im waiting a while and am going to upgrade to a AM2+ Black Edition and 6GB RAM, then reformat. A budget upgrade.
