    if you host stuff and need somewhere to store stuff you should really put it up like a server/storing computer !
    I got an old computer here. Will fix it tomorrow i think

    I will probably go with a router/firewall and a storage server on my network.

    Turn it into a server imo, then you can (as said) host games on it or make a gateway.

    edit: If you get a big enough HDD on it then yeah network it and just store stuff on it that you/your family will use.

    (My computer is 2 years old...Is that really that old? D=)

    Install a distro of linux on it, should breathe some life into the old system.
    Then if you're into messing around with different things, you could always
    install WoW using Wine. It may actually be playable, if not...turn it into a server or something.

    Like suggested above turn it into a server but what i recommend you should do is buy a new computer tower case, clean all the parts up and maybe add a bigger HD then sell it, ive done this twice before and made some extra cash.
