Symbols and metaphors

Good Day!

Well, as you see on the title of this thread I need some help with symbols and metaphors in text's. I have absolutely no idea of how to find them, and I really need help since I got examination in Norwegian(my language). For people who know literature it shouldn't be any problem, and I'd really hope someone on here is into any of that.

I'm not asking you to open a private chat with me and sit for several hours helping me out with my text, I'd just hope someone could fetch me a list over symbols or a website with something on it.

AllChars - Manual is the manual for it.

"Matador is a beast!"

The metaphor in the sentence is "beast".
You can easily identify metaphors if you look for statements that can't be meant literally. I am not a beast in the sense of an on the floor crawling guy born in Chernobyl without brains but 5 arms instead, but in the sense of "beast" representing a connection to certain characteristics assigned to the word in your mind (constructivism).


"Matador eats peace doves for breakfast."

The symbol in the sentence is "peace dove".
Again, the sentence isn't meant literally and can be understood in the sense of me giving a shit about peace because "peace dove" is a symbol for "peace". Connected with the metaphor "eating for breakfast" it's understandable in the way I mentioned it.

Metaphors and symbols are quite similar: Symbols simply are are often/traditionally used metaphors (Flag=Country; Sun=Hope; Matador=Hyperanthropos; Leviathan=Total chaos).
