[Help] Building a Computer.

Hey, I would first like to start off saying that I do not know much about building a computer, so I would like some of your guys help.

I want to build a gaming computer, some qualities I would like:
Able to run 3+ wow's smooth.
Able to run fraps with wow on highest settings with a good FPS.
Lot of memory for video editing.
Under $1000.

I would like to buy most of the parts from tigerdirect.com so please get your suggestions off of there, unless you got a better place. Moniter is not a big deal unless your under $1000 then your welcome to suggest one. I would like some 5.1 speakers (Make sure sound card allows).

Q6600's work pretty well and Its only $170
DFI motherboards always own $110 range.
GSkill ram Is nice and cheap can get around 4 gigs for $100 range.
Look there thats just under 400 It all depends on what you want and how good you want It. I think that would run tri box WoW but who knows.. There are much better things If you would rather me look something up less value lol..

I myself am using the Logitech G51 gaming speakerset,
I dont know what set you`re with at the moment but when I first got it it was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. Just sick.
If you wanna listen to music with a normal bass you`ll have to put the bass at 50% on the lovely control panel. 5.1 surround sound. The control panel you get is very nice too ;-) Any relatively new but not expensive motherboard should really support 5.1,
if not you can always buy a cheap @$$ sound card or so.


As for 3x wow I dont know. You are going to multibox ?
They use a special application that doesnt really require 3 wows at the same time, its lighter somehow.
Because my wow FPS tends to drop to like immediately when I start wow twice.
(Dual core 2.4 Ghz, 2gb ram 800 mhz, 8800 GT ofcourse 512version )

As for ram 4 gigs of DDR2 at 800 Mhz will do just fine.
Note that the maximum vista and xp in 32-bit ( Standard ) versions can only use 3.3 of the 4 you`ve got.


Q6600 is a great processor atm, would be nice if I had it but I`d rather change my monitor first ;-)
The E8500 , a dual core processor ( q66 is quad ) is mentioned very often aswell for current games.


If you`re going to use FRAPS I suggest a rather big internal HDD aswell, 500+ gigs ofcourse SATA disks.


World of warcraft isnt that intense for any modern graphics card, the 9600 GT, 9800 GT ( Previously 8800 GT which I have, a classic but no longer sold here ). I must be honest, I`m more of an NVIDIA guy. But , these 2 nvidia cards are classics too at this moment. ATI 4850 and ATI 4870. Maybe I`ve missed a few nice cards, but these are really those cards that you can play Far Cry 2 with, Crysis Warhead, Gears of War, so that means WoW plays like .. :-)

Just look around some of the websites you use were you can purchase hardware,
post a few links and I`ll take a look at it
