Everyday in and out, 2 hours free between lessons pisses me off since i couldnt play WoW between it since last month. Why? They blocked it. I went crazy, got rehab isseus etc and started to twitch, i had to do something about it. So i managed to do it after a lil research.
For those why get annoyed by not being able to play WoW at collage, heres your early xmas present.
Step 1: You need 2 programs to do this, one is called YF ( which stands for your freedom, go to their website Your Freedom: HOME and make a account then download it and follow the install step by step) it gives you free acces to their server ports, and SocksCap v2. Just google for it. The last released version is 2.40.
Step 2: Make sure YF is set so that the Socks 4/5 port is enabled and set to 1080 (that's the default)
Step 3: Open up SocksCap, click on File and then go to Settings and make sure the
SOCKS Settings tab looks like this:
With the SOCKS Server set to "localhost" and port set to "1080"
Step 4: Now click on the "New" button on the Sockscap main window, then click on
the browse button in the window that comes up.
Go to the folder "C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft" (or wherever your WoW folder is stored) and double click on the program called WoW.exe.( for vista look in users not PRfiles )
The Sockscap main window should now look like this:
Step 5: Make sure YF is connected to a European Server if you're playing WoW in Europe, or to an American server if you are playing in America, as this will reduce lag in the game.
Step 6: Once YF is connected, double click on the WoW icon in the main Sockscap window, or click on the WoW icon and then click on the "Run!" button. World of Warcraft will now run and connect to the WoW server when you log in.
Enjoy!
ps. This guide is not entirely made by me, its a more easy way to play WoW behind a proxy then using other ways.
Now start grinding to 80 during boring lessons.
