backup system and OS and format simple only backup your system files and files need to boot and OS sorry you can't backup the pictures of your dog =(

Don't reformat, unless you're an idiot of course. Reformatting is only effective half of the time, it doesn't take much for malware to avoid the process and it can be a pain for some.

If you want to fix it, run these programs.. In this order:
MBAM
ComboFix

Google searches for them will bring the correct pages at the top of the results list. You won't need to install the "Recovery Console" for ComboFix, but if your connection dies after using it, just repair it via the Network & Connections option on the Control Panel. ComboFix should take about 15 minutes, and MBAM about 45. MBAM will give you the option to save a log, and ComboFix will save one for you at C:\ComboFix.txt.. I can look at the log(s) after you've used the programs if you want, but they should catch anything if it's there.

There's also an online scanner from KasperSky, which is a really great tool considering you don't need to install anything. You could also pick up a 30-day trial of NOD32 from ESET, if you're still paranoid afterwards. But uh, I wouldn't rely on McAfee to find a keylogger. Especially if it's packed. Chances are, you don't even have a keylogger.
You can check the processes using your connections by going to:
Start > Run > Netstat -b
which will list the connections, ports, and tasks.
It's great for checking if a keylogger or RAT is in your system.
