yupp according to some of the WoW guys they have actually been working on some Emerald Dream stuff but scrapped it all to renovate the whole thing to make it bigger and better. forget where I saw this but it was a legit quote from some of the software developers at Blizzard

Yes, I saw that too. Something along the lines of the emerald dream was going to be, well where it is now, but then decided to scrap it and make a whole other instanced area, like northrend.
