Blizzard ready to Milk the cow (battle.net)

    - With Battle.net we're definitely looking at possible different features that we might be able to do for additional money. We're not talking about Hellgate or anything like that. We're not going to tack things on. I think World of Warcraft is a great example to look at. We charge people if they want to switch servers or if they want name changes, things that aren't core to the game experience, they're really just optional things that some people want. It takes us some development work to do it, so it makes sense to charge for it. We would never do something like say to get the full game experience, you'll have to pay extra.

The Diablo, WarCraft, and StarCraft series had online features completely free, only supported from the original cost of the purchase, and the purchase of the expansion, and in my opinion that is very fair, and it should stay that way. It doesn't cost nearly as much to run that kind of server than to run a WoW server, all they have for WarCraft is 4 servers, which WoW has MANY different servers, hence the fee. Also they don't have to have a bunch of employees hired to do the in-game and phoned support. I really think you should of thought of that instead of sitting here and running your mouth like a ****ing moron.

They are providing you a FREE SERVICE. The servers are FREE, unlike a lot of games that you pay to play. The funny thing about that though, they still have to pay for the servers themselves, even though you are not paying them for them. If you honestly have a problem with it, don't play the ****ing game, but don't sit here and run your mouth like a ****ing moron because your mother won't pay for any more of your video game expenses.

you sir need to calm the **** down, it is a game, and if someone wants to be a moron on this forum, let them, its not offending anyone or anything, so drop it, you are the type of person that starts fights for the hell of it, just be quiet and let it go.

It would really suck if Blizz started to charge for battle.net or for any features for it. As was stated above, it's always been free so long as you pay for the game. And also, there aren't employees in-game providing support.

Blizz is just trying to get as much as they can from the people who play their games. It gets ridiculous after a while. One of the best parts of battle net is that it IS free; I wouldn't play it if it wasn't.

Blizzard isn't going to charge to play on B.Net. They will however, charge for character name changes, moving characters from one realm to another, etc. Which I've honestly wanted since D2 came out. Play the game for free, but get charged for things that aren't part of actual gameplay. Sounds good to me.

To the rest of you bitching and moaning, just quit while you're ahead. D3 will require at least 40-50 servers alone. (The Diablo following is almost the size of the WoW following) Same goes for SC2.

Granted, they make more than enough from WoW to support whatever they need, it's just not cost effective to rely on one game to support a handful of others. Get over yourselves and learn some business management.
