alot of people ask me this question because i play WoW on a daily basis and still keep in really good shape. i go to the gym regularly and i'm always trying to cut body fat rather than bulk up. some of my tips:

low carb diet. you can eat mostly everything, as long as it's not high calorie/sat. fat stuff. it's good to keep track of what you are eating throughout the day.

drink a crap load of water. i drink like 5-8 bottles a day. at first it might take some getting used to but after a while you'll find yourself wanting to drink lots of water.

CARDIO. lots of it. if you are trying to lose weight/cut body fat you want to sweat as much as you can. what i used to do was cut out plastic bags and wrap them around my chest/stomach, this makes you sweat like crazy. i also workout with a hoodie and sweatpants on.

less weight, more reps! when you are lifting weights don't try to lift as much as you can. this is good, but really only for people trying to bulk up, not cut fat. less weight to where its comfortable but you still feel 'the burn', and do more reps.

i follow a somewhat strict diet, of course not everyone has to. i just do it cause im still trying to cut some body fat. if anyone has any questions feel free to pm me
