Whats your guys' opinions on the best/your favorite virus scanner?

I probably have tons of viruses on this comptuer, and would like them to go bye-bye.

    Thanks

Haven't had much experience with Avast myself, I've only used BitDefender, NOD32, AVG and Kaspersky.

I use all of those, plus Spysweeper and Spybot Search & Destroy. And I have a firewall

    Worms are not viruses exactly.
A worm is different from a virus in that it can reproduce itself, it's self-contained, and it doesn't need a host application to be transported. It is possible for a worm to contain or deliver a virus to a target system.
