Review of "The Dark Knight"

Ok first off, I know it isn't out yet, yesterday I got to see a screener of it because my dad is in the Screen Actors Guild nominating committee. I'll try to not spoil anything, if there is a spoiler coming up, i'll say.

Anyways, I do NOT recommend this movie to anyone under the age of, lets say, 12-13 years old. It is MUCH darker than I expected, I was thinking it would be like Spiderman 3, but it is much darker.

I'll start off by saying we all miss Heath Ledger, and seeing him play who he did in this movie only added to the greatness of it. He played the joker. It's not the joker you remembered from 20 years ago, this one is truly insane. [MAYBE SPOILER] Plagued by the beatings of his father (as he so tastefully said), he is scarred with a smile on his face and hate in his heart. No. Not hate. Vengeance.

One of my favorite actors, Christian Bale, played our hero, Batman. He also gave a spectacular performance, and he is as well much darer in this movie. Not evil, just darker.

This whole movie is much "grittier" than it's predecessor action superhero movies. [SPOILER ALERT] It does have a happy ending, but not in the way you would think. [END OF SPOILER] The special effects were superb, everything flowed into each other. Also, there weren't many unbelievable parts, such as in Indiana Jones, when they were getting shot at by 30 machine guns and none of them got hit. This movie had VERY few scenes where you would say "No way that could happen" because, in reality, it all can.

The traps and plans by the joker are amazing. He may be crazy, but god dammit he is a genius. All of the traps you see will make you exclaim "NO FRIGGIN' WAY!!!!!" then you will sit down, and be even more shocked by the next one.

Heath Ledger added his own flair to the character of the already darkened joker. He made what he did seem, well, funny. He was always smacking his lips as he was talking, and he would seem always so...not serious. He was always making jokes, always being funny, in a cruel, sick way.

So here is my ratings (Out of 5, 1 being the lowest, 5 being the highest.)

Oh damn this movie looked SO good. He was the joker that I always wanted, the truely insane one. Thanks for the review, now I'm going to go see it!
