    Little request for you deep-voiced people out there...

    I know somebody out there has got a good, deep voice. (Meaning no cracked-voiced kiddies >.> ) If you've got the patience, it'd be much appreciated if you could make a recording of yourself reading any random piece of text, best result would be a relaxing kind of text, in a deep, mono-tone voice (Basically, no expression, just try to make your voice as relaxing as possible)

    If it delivers, is very relaxing and over 2 minutes long, you will be rewarded.

    Thanks

    Edit because I can see it happening:

    Screamers and the like will be punished, this is a serious request. >.>
    I used to be a Super Mod. Now I'm just Super, thanks for asking.

    May I ask what you will be using the recording for?

    To help me sleep. I have trouble sleeping most of the time, so unless I'm completely exhausted (Not very common at the time I go to sleep) I am unable to fall asleep unless I have something to calm me down, something relaxing.

    Also, here's an example (What I'm using for tonight)

    Relaxing voice - Google Video

    Ah. I have a step up. I could listen to myself talk calmly all night but I have much a much better option.

    Considering this is what I used to do as a kid I'm not sure if it's just good for me or other people as well, I've heard both good and bad feedback.

    I recommend audiobooks. I love the narnia series. I believe there is 7 books (no one murder me if this is wrong) and they are all pretty calm.

    But my all time favourite is Winnie-the-Pooh. I have a nice set (besides one corrupted file) that I could send you if you PM me and we set it up. What makes it good is the soothing voice but also the story lines are very nonsensical so your brain isn't concentrating on the story; it just flows.

    Hit me up with a PM and I'd be more than happy to send you some or direct you to some you can download yourself.

    You ouhgta try out Idoser. If you havn't heard of it;
    It basicly produces brainwaves, wich can have different effects, depending on what 'dose' you pick. One of them helps you sleep better. I remember Kuiren posting it a long time ago in Contribs, with all the doses attached.

    Good luck with it

    @Stigggs, rofl.

    But I'm not looking for music :P

    Tonnu, iDoser does nothing for me, absolutely nothing. I want a voice thing, because I find I relax better when listening to a calming voice, etc.

    For truly soothing tones, I can highly recommend Dylan Thomas's 'Under Milkwood' as read by Richard Burton. His voice is deep and sonorous, the writing is rhythmic like breathing or waves. It's available for mp3 download I think.

    I don't think I've ever successfully listened to the whole thing in one sitting without falling asleep, and that was despite really wanting to hear it all. A little too soothing :P

    Salo, if you're able to find a download for that, you will be rewarded!

    Tina,

    I have found it available to buy as a download: they have very kindly included a 5 minute sample.

    The Essential Dylan Thomas

    I don't know if you've heard it before, but it's more an audio play than audio book. The narration though is Burton and that's pretty much what the first 5 minutes is.

    *smiles*

    Poche, voice does a lot more for me than nature sounds... Ocean sounds usually include seagulls, and I find seagulls to be the worst creature ever spawned, and their annoying screech to be from hell...

    you should try listening to hardcore facial abuse porn, more relaxing than any whale or milkwood.
