yea cedega is better than wine but i mean i dont wanna pay for it...
Windows for games
Mac for program, to be a professional designer (video/photos edition), and to have a nice OS.
Linux to feel safe, to learn, program, be part of a truly community
To be honest i've downloaded ubuntu (gutsy gibbon first)when i saw Mendela clip, so i kinda like it now (and stability with Gimp which i <3), (but still double boot with windows grub FTW). About the games on linux: FRETS ON FIRE!!!!! (those who don't know its Guitar Hero clone for PC)
Also the greatest thing about ubuntu and linux in general are repositories, in my opinion.

"If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen." <-- about "will i be banned questions"
yea those are usefull. isnt ubuntu just awsome!
Bah! Ubuntu 7.10 sucks IMO. I haven't tried 8.04 yet....
Debian is pretty cool and so are OSes like centOS, etc.
But I prefer Windows as I have used it for 4 years and it's easy to use.
But when it comes to servers... Well... I have to run Windows and Linux really.
Can't live w/o the support of everything from Windows and the security of Linux.

and you have to say a reasonw hy ubuntu sucks. say one. i got millions for windows.....
Everytime I try and install something, it says I need this and that and I cannot do this because of that and unchecking this is not possible!
For example, I try and install the MP3 codec, it says I need good something and not bad, but when I set it to good, it says I cannot set it because I need this thing...
And I can't find this thing! :P
Drives me nuts!
1. It's 100% like Vista. Not worth dual booting.
2. It has no extra features Windows doesn't.
3. I hate people with the "1337 h4xX0r" attitude that run Ubuntu and think they're awesome.
4. Linux in general is optimized more on the side of hacking, programming, web administration etc. Windows is ok for all those, but Linux is WAY better. Ubuntu is excluded in this. Everything Ubuntu gives you is incompatibilities.
4a. As a beginner distro it's fine. Over-user friendly, in my opinion.
<advertize> Slackware ftw, even though it's abit advanced </advertize>
I like Redhat, It's a good OS and pretty advanced.
I prefer servers to desktop as it's more shell then GUI.
But Bash can be a pain.
i have found no errors so far with any lib dv mp3 fftmepg or everything. its called using synaptic package manager. if it requires other updates it doesnt ask you anything it just installs them. I have ubuntu and i amusing like everyday windows because i am used to it. but i use alot of ubuntu stuff 2. and second of all its nothing like vista. vista has millions of bugs. has choppy gfx. costs about 200-500 depending on which package. ubuntu has extra features. look up on youtube ubuntu compiz there you will see extra features which dont run on cpu. most people dont think that because they run ubuntu. dont hate ubuntu just because you dont like other people who think they are 1337 haxzorz. linux is for everything not just programming and shit. i play games, use the internet. and at times its not always user-friendly. you dont know what to get to run dvds. to get make and automake and checkinstall. you dont know about games. yea the configuration is user friendly. but thats if you want it to. if you dont want user freindly open up files in / i did, ****ed up my computer because i didnt know what i was doing. that is not user friendly. that is all. and slackware sucks. its text-based and if you wanna install it and get everything to your needs good luck wasting up to a week. with ubuntu its a day.

what do you mean your point exacly. you disgraced it i defended it. i am not talking about windows for dumb shit. i am talking about ubuntu.
Not really disgraced it.
You wanted atleast 1 reason why Ubuntu sucks.
And I stated my own opinion.
Of course, doesn't mean that everything I say is right, I might be wrong.
But in my own head I'm right, so... :P
Its like comparing apples and oranges. In reality , all of the oses can pretty much do your daily stuff. nobody here says mac is meant for photoshop and stuff like that. I am a mac user myself and heck I can do most of the stuff including running ascent and mangos on the mac itself. surely , i may not be able to use repacks but i can certainly get stuff done. The beauty of OSX lies with BSD actually. You can run some powerful tools from the *nix world such as wep cracking tools. To be fair , each OS and pros and cons. It just happens so Windows is the most widely used operating system , hence there are lot of things for it.
