Operating systems?

Well, I'm buying a laptop quite soon and I was looking on Dell.com at the XPS laptops and I came across one I liked so I started customizing (Button on the website) and I came up to Operating System and there was no Windows anymore, only Vista! I personally do not like Vista because most of the stuff here on MMOwned doesn't work with Vista, and I'm not really familiar with it. Therefor I decided to give up on that laptop till I found a better one, cheaper than the old ($1,700 US) and with a windows operating system.. Any idea's guys?

Btw, I know I had a topic like this before but It is quite old and people would have flamed if I bumped it now. (The other topic is just about a new comp, nothing really like this)

Anyway, please help me out here. I'm not a computer "Wiz" So I really don't know where to get this stuff. Thanks in advance..

If you mean cheaper AND BETTER than the other laptop, then yes, buy it!
Otherwise, you could just install XP instead of Vista by yourself, which isnt very hard...
So you can stick with the better one or the cheap one... Cheap with XP or Better with XP (after installing it...)

Btw, Vista is Windows, I presume you were talking about XP.
