If you are worried about people getting your name from looking at who the computer is registered to, you can do this simple trick.
Click "run" (Windows Key+R/Or find it in the "start" menu)
Type in "regedit" (Without the quotes), now a window that looks like figure1 should appear
Browse to the following location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
, using the small plus signs next to the headings (see Figure 2)
To change the name of the registered owner:
- In the right pane, double-click "RegisteredOwner". Under Value data, type the name that you want, and
- then click OK. (See Figure 3 for location)
Change the value (name) at the prompt shown highlighted (see Figure 4)
To change the name of the registered company:
- In the right pane, double-click "RegisteredOrganization". Under Value data, type the name that you want, and
- then click OK.
