ouch, not sure what happened with the background, it has a weird cut off int he back, try to keep the same background that line looks strange
try to blend the text with the sig (stick it on overlay or somethinmg) also make it a bit smaller.
Other than that for a first its not bad but theres quite a biit to work on, try to pick colours from the render for the background and use lighing, brushing to add depth to the sig.
thats my second try on it. I have problems with what to do with the rest of the sig after i put name and render in it.
any tips on what to put in the blank spots?
kwl looks alot nicer imo. my advice now would be to move the text a bit into the blank space, many people like the whole simple character name --> picture kinda sigs so might work here. nice job with the background looks alot more interesting. nice job with the blending of the render looks kooler.
if you dont want to have that kinda sig, with the text and the render (like a character sig) try putting the render into the centre and using the above steps burn, brush around the edges of the sig making it darker, make this gradual towards the centre (but not to dark you cant see it) thats my other idea for what you could possibly do.
try using the burn tool (makes it darker) around the edges of the sig so it draws the eye into the centre of the sig, the focal point. also if you feel like you want to be challeneged a bit try look at some lighting tutorials, they are kinda basic but the effect is very good and helps make your sigs look alot more realistic.
also major thing that you must do really is add a border, just makes the sig look so much better. if you dont know how to do it heres how :
CTRL + A (select all) Edit, stroke, e.g. pick 1px black outer stroke.
most of all just look at some tutorials they will help alot, it may not seem as though it makes much sense at first but when you come to making sigs again you'll remember little pointers and will gradually use them in the future
