GIMP sig/background/avatar tutorial?

if one could be made that would be great ive lookd around on sites for gimp tutorials cant find anything good also on renders i cant get a good render from WMV with GIMP.....

Planet Renders v3 has some awesome renders.
deviantART: where ART meets application! has my favorite brushes.. used to make some amazing sigs.

heh.. i am registed on Deviant just to look for brushes i have been to planet renders and am registerd ty tho... i just am looking for a link to an in depth guide to GIMP and do u know how to install fonts on gimp?

yup first...
go to File>Preferences>Folders>Brushes
Then Delete the thing thats already checked... or the first thing on your list
Then make a new folder on your desktop called GIMP Brushes.
Then click the ... button and find that folder.. select it.. then click the create button
(The one that has a folded corner
Then in Deviantart.com Search Gimp Brushes.. it will download in .Zip
then you will take them put em all in the folder and there
