Oh god, please, do something with the text, if you can do something with it to look more appropriate with the rest and blend it in better, it will be good. A lot better than mine IMO

The thing that's causing the text to look off is the fact that he used bevel & emboss. In general: stay away from in it, especially on small text. It will almost always look bad unless you tweak the shadows and highlights according to the lightning in the image, which mito did not do. The light source is set to a global source which is down left, and when rotating the text the lightning will look off. Mito would've had to disable global lightning and adjust according to the position. Even then, it still looks like shit on almost any text unless you're going for a realistic bevel effect. The default is not realistic at all. He'd also have to shadow the backdrop, which again he didn't do so it looks even more off.

I'd just stay away from bevel & emboss almost entirely for text unless used very subliminally and with great attention to lightning on surroundings. Anything shy of perfect looks like trash when it comes to beveled text.

Because constructive criticism is so massively important to help you (or anyone for that matter) improve. It's important to realize the difference between realism and unreal: realism is needed to make everything better whereas something unreal - surreal - is personal preference or "style". Realism is vital to achieve a result which is as good as possible.

I'm not bashing you - quite the contrary. I'm trying to help you improve. You can't go around saying that you're being offended by that. That won't get you anywhere. Is there a specific reason that you don't want to perform as well you could for someone you're helping, regardless of the fact that you're doing it for free?

Please don't catch me wrong, i'm thankfull for any constructive critic. Anyway..i don't have that much time atm, cause i'm going to write (same as Discipline) my exams in about 3 weeks and have to learn pretty much. On top i did a facebook picture for Urban and he wasn't able to give any comment over there..and this is what disappoint's me..cause i think this is the minimum what all the guys here deserve for helping him out. And normally i do the best i can, as i even don't give out anything i'm not 100% happy with it, except i want to keep someone up to date
