Yes I didI just used MANY shades of brown! Like I said, I zoomed into onto the canvas to the maximum so that I could blend the pixels correctly. It was a constant zoom in, zoom out battle
lol awesome!
Okay, I started working on this one yesterday morning, and I would say it's taken me a total of 6 hours to finish. Unfortunately I RUINED it. The painting was larger originally, it included his entire face and neck, after beginning to work on his mane and forelock (the hair on his head between the ears) I realized it wasn't going to work with my background color which was black. I used the bucket tool to try and make it white, but in doing so, it bled into his face and hair. So I had to manually color it which just absolutely made it look awful. I've cropped it down to his eyes and I've cut out the hair and neck as it looks the worse. I also realized upon saving it each time, that I was losing data by saving it as a .jpg, everytime I did so the color became blurrier and blurrier and blended together. Ultimatley I suppose if you wanted a really really picture looking painting, this would be a good thing. But I wanted my drawing to actually LOOK like a MS paint painting. By saving and coloring the outside, I ruined it. I'm really pissed off about it on account of the amount of work I put into it. I wasn't going to post it, but since I did waste so much time making it for this thread, I figured I might as well. As a side note, this is my horse, Flash. He is a 22yr old Arabian. I have had him since he was a youngling and I have painted and sketched him for many years.
Also a hint for folks using MS paint. For lifelike paintings, switch your brush to the smallest possible pixels and ZOOM IN! This technique is demonstrated in his eye, which I spent a lot of time on to make it look glassy and wet. This is done again, by using the smallest brush. Think about a photo. A clearer photo uses more pixels right? So if you're using more tiny pixels to fill an area, rather than large pixels, you get a sharper image. If you were to zoom this painting out, it would look very close to a real photo.
To paint something like this, use the same techniques used in real life painting. Sketch the shape first. Then color it with your basic colors. ie for this painting, I used many shades of brown and black. Then I went over it with more shades of black, brown, red, tan, beige and even green to create the features and highlight where your light source is coming from.
You'll want to know the anatomy of your subject to the teeth. By knowing which way your objects hair goes, the way his wrinkles lay, you can create a very life like painting. For example, look around Flash's eyes. I've used a somewhat circular pattern, and then blended it more diagonally. This give you the life like look of his wrinkles, bones, veins and hair. I hope my novel has inspired someone to try it out! As a random note, I cannot for the life of me draw or paint realistic looking humans. My ability seems to be restricted to animals. And Equines are my specialty![]()

You have crazy skills, Nazomi!
Molested myself and got convicted.
That's absolutely amazing! I'm glad you chose to post it! I would be lying if I said I wasn't jealous of your tremendous skill and unyielding patience! ^^ Thank you for showing us this!

haha thanks!I was going through my pictures, and I found two more MS paint's that I had done before!
I drew this one in a facebook game that is now discontinued. I was drawing random things that people told me to draw on vent. A friend who played a boomkin told me to draw him (he thought I was going to draw HIM. I surprised him and drew him as a boomkin instead) :P
And well... another horse. I know, shocking. I was thinking of a skin swap color design for the Huntsman Steed

I developed a new method using MS paint that I wanted to share. (Also I've been working on my people drawing)
These were done using MS paint, then using a blur tool in a separate program to bring them to life!

That big feller doesn't look like he'd be too willing to share his sandwich!
why not? look at his big smile, he'd be insulted if u didnt accept it! :P
anyway, to go on on the TF topic,
i decided to give it a go,
i must admit though, i cheated, i used a graphical tablet + an overlay (printed out the image and placed it ontop of the tablet) to draw the outlines etc, then manually colored it in xD
(rules said it was supposed to be made in mspaint, which it is, so technically i didnt cheat? :P)
i must admit, a graphical tablet on mspaint probably only made it harder for myself
though it did go pretty fast when it comes to coloring in stuff :P
Damn Nazomi, nice skills bro ^^
