tattoo's shouldn't be something random someone suggests, since it is "forever" on you, it should mean something to you.

In example: my father has sleeves and back done, mostly depicting devils, the marine corps, and other things demonic in nature. His reason for them being he was in a bad place in life and it reminds him of how low "shit" can get.

Yeah but someone doing a nice picture for him, that he can use, of hes own theme can still work if you ask me.
Someone also made those pictures for yor dad too, fair enaugh probably not Photoshoped image, but thats a mather of tase, and you can get some pretty cool stuff in Photoshop

I recently had my own tat done and i strongly advise you design the tattoo urself to make it personal and unique to urself. Take the time to research topics and images ur interested in etc where u can use references to create your own idea. Even if you are not strong at art u can always sketch the initial idea and with additional image references pass them on to the tattooist to develop further. You should also think about the location of the tat on ur body e.g. neck, lower arm and wrist art is often a down mark if ur looking for a job etc. and colouring / shading. After 3 weeks of having mine my dad ended up walking in with my same sketch and getting it done as well :P
