You keep getting better but that filter on the background looks awful...
Lol, thanks :] Whats a good filter? Or do you know any tuts to make good backgrounds?
Try using a better render with a good focal point. also oversize the render to fit the sig then smudge.
Don't use a filter at all. You can do way better effects by hand with the smudgetool. Google for some Signature Tutorials and just follow them!
just look up some tuts on google or youtube ext, also try finding a better render, planetrenders.net is a good place to do so, the render u used is way to flat and blobby for my tastes

Lol, Got this render prom planetrender :]
He ment not to use filters when creating a backgroundFunny you'd say that, when you currently use a signature where filters are used.
What for? I don't see anything worth /facepalming for in the comment.
Filters can be used and most artists use them regularly. If you're not using it, you're not using Photoshop's full potential. As always, there are bad and good filters to use but all of them CAN be used if done right. It's as with the "do not use bevel & emboss on text" taboo thing, when someone says that, it's because 95% of the time the user is doing it wrong or using it the wrong way. Everything in Photoshop can be used with a bit of knowledge.
