Try and play with the font, and merge the render with the BG, or add some depth.![]()
how exactly do i add depth? ive had people tell me this alot, an i still never understand what it meens lol
Basically create a "drop" feel, or you can make it blend perfectly, look at ShepyWolf's sigs (for example), and you get a sense of drop, it depends on the occasion.
I normally create depth using gaussian blur and the blur tool. First off you should look at what's actually on the signature? There might be some mountains in the far background. Give them a 2px gaussian blur for example. Then there's some trees which are closer to the render. Give them 1px gaussian blur. And leave the render unblurred. That will create depth. If you have a signature which is mainly C4Ds and a render. You would want to leave the render, and the C4Ds going over the render, as they won't be behind it. Then blur the ones that seems to be behind the render. With smudge signatures you should give it a 0.5-3px blur. I normally use 0.5-1 on those, as I don't want the smudge to get too ruined.
The objects furthest away from the point of view is the most blurry as the human eye can't depict details too far away. The eye gets drawn to the sharpest & lightest point of everything you watch.
For example:
Which dot does your eye draw to?
Which part of the image does your eye draw to?
This is called depth of field and you can read about it here: Depth of Field - Digital Photography Tutorial - Photoxels
It's a great practice.
