Very good 9/10 for the first time ever using PS. Maybe have the text blend a little more?
CTRL + ALT + Z should let you go back enough to fix something. Blending a render generally consists of more than just erasing the sides.
perhaps work on blending you text and placing it a bit better, near the focal is a good place for text and can be a fail safe method of placing text.
overall not bad for your first sig, there are people who have made hundreds of sigs and they look HORRIBLE. The kinda sigs that would make you swallow a shotgun... yeah that bad.

I tried to follow the 3x3 grid rule for text placement, but I suck at text, and I did more than erasing the sides lol, just not that good yet.
heh... never heard the grid rule... sounds silly to me. text is often placed for balance and given a grid rule I think that could kinda harm balance, so I personally would learn to eye an image to choose the proper text placement.
Keep working on sigs though, like I said it is pretty good for a first sig, and later on you will laugh at it. I still laugh at my first sig...
