far from perfectbut I think it is looking good so far. This is actually probably the second image I have ever worked on that I thought about presenting to the public for reasons other than a portfolio. I hope everyone likes it thus far

You should adjust the colours a bit in my opinion, the red background and red skater plus the red lines & curves are a bit too much. Add a contrast to the rest of the colours to make the image a lot better, perhaps green or blue curves.
Also, I dunno what you've done with the skater but it looks good. Gives me the feeling of a retro image. Then I look at the background and gets kind-of distracted, the main focal and the background isn't made with the same style. Focal is retro and background is realistic.
And before I forget - try adding some of those curves in front of the skater too, might look better.
Good job so far, looking forward to the final outcome. Keep it up.

Well what i have with the background right now is a desaturated with a paint filter, but I am not really liking it, so I am still trying to figure out what to do with it. in the posted image it is just a gaussian blur which I didn't really work on other than that for the simple fact that I just finished the skater and was wrapping it up for the night.
i intended on erasing parts of the skater so the white from the curves spill onto the skater to give it a bit of depth, then bringing a few more curves around using the pen tool so it will wind around him.
I will try to get some time to work with it tonight and post an update![]()

add some lightstrokes around the skateboard, but not the usual ones make them messy like the ones by the right leg of the skater.
