[Tutorial]How to turn a real thing into a 3d lookin object

Hey guys, i was messing around with photoshop for my drum&bass background,i took a turntable and applied some filters and was liek Woah that doesnt look real, it looks like 3d somewhat.
    DnB Wallpaper
So i thought "Hey can we apply this to another pic" so i tried out Paris Hilton...it didnt work out as well as the Turntable but it still looks a bit "3dish" imo.
So first get you a render.
Now DUPLICATE the layer (after you deleted the white background if the imgae has a background)
Then you go to Distortion Filters-crimple (i dont know the exact word of this filter in english)
the settings should be like the following:

and apply it to the copied layer

Now Apply a gausian blur on the copied layer the settings should be like this:

Now change the transform mode of the ORIGINAL layer to soft light.
It should look somewhat like this now:

I hope i was able to help you out or inspire you...although the paris hilton thing doesnt look that good, with a bit of color correction the 3d Paris would look good also i think.

    Greetings Xayo
