what i am asking is.

if i make a thread, and get all artists in one thread, and you can just request
here. say in this format..

But i love the idé and then 1 person can request and get like 6 diferent options to chose from It would be an honour to be in the thread

so is this just going to be "the request thread" effectively? (or atleast the main one) as some artists might choose to leave their service as it is.

if it is well on the main thread you have like:
the artists:
name
pics of work

name
picks of work

etc?

that kind of thing so that someone requesting in the thread knows who they want to pick?

only problem i see is that alot of the lesser abled artists participating may not get many requests

Well i have a option. why cant just evryone that wants do the sig do it. if not a costumer perticerly wants it from someone. some artists may say its useless timetakeing but imo its just good training and the person that requests the signature gets lots of option and top service!

This could be a good idea, but still, most of these threads usually just goes to waste burried by alot of bad and/or good threads. As long as people remembers it, it can prove useful.

Of my experience people end up making request threads anyway, I'm pretty sure there was a thread with almost the same purpose. We'll just wait and see.

Personally i don't support this idea. People can make a request thread if they want a bigger variety to choose from. If someone were to make a request in this thread, they would probably get less variety than they would if they made their own thread. If someone wants a certain style or a "Me0w" sig as an example, they can post in his thread.
The skill level varies in this section and some people's sigs might never be chosen . This thread probably wouldn't be used much, barely anyone looks in the graphics section anyways.
We used to have a Show-off thread, where everyone could post their newly created work, but it died. It wasn't that great anyway, people could post their work. But half the time people would just post more work and people wouldn't see it.

Thats just a lot of reasons why i don't really support this idea... tell us if it doesn't make sense

I think you get even more variety in a thread such as the planned one. and people less skilled like me dosnt matter if a person use a signature we made or not ^^
a ''good work'' or ''keep it up'' and the art being published is well enough credit.
But in time we'll see if it gose good or bad

personally yes thats the argument i would have against it. e.g. i make a request that you say is open to everyone but say for instance i know i like piersd style its pointless 5 other people also doing the request when i know i would be happy with a particular artists.
most people like particular styles thats why we have a wide range of artists here which all receive roughly equal amounts of attention.
but by all means if you dont feel it would waste your time and is valuable training make the sig i just think for many people they could quickly get bored of making sigs which arent chosen/appreciated because some "better" artist created one again.
just really thats my main point against the thread, the "lesser" artists will never get appreciation for the work which isnt encouraging at all. but goodluck with the thread, see how it goes, but from the past many attempts of things similar to this havent been to good, prove people wrong with this

Sadly, I do not like this idea. Sure it'd be great to have people request in just one thread and request certain artists, but here is where we get problems

1. What if one artist is requested too much? He couldn't do all of them
2. What if the person just doesn't request right, or specifies more than one artist. - Waste of time.
3. Questions will be frequently asked, cluttering the thread with tons of pages.
4. The amount of requests would be about the same as the 3-4 shops combined, that's probably like what 10 requests per week, in one thread?!
5. Artists would have to check on this thread, constantly if they were to satisfy customers.
6. Leechers/Low rep members would request. What if an artist has a rule on that.

The list goes on. Of course there are many ways to avoid such problems, but the organization of this would take a long time. I say leave it be, let people open shops, and request there. That way you give people a chance to decide, and you don't have an over used/abused thread. That's just my opinion. And also, I'm tired of people opening shops everyday! I mean seriously guys, a signature is not a picture+text. (Not aiming at the artists who learn/try, aiming and some of the leechers that have come here in the past weeks, trying to get rep!)

hmm yeah, i guse some people wouldnt be happy about that.
myself tough, i'm not much of a tutorial fantast. watched a few for some special styles but not for basics. that i learned by experementing and trying out evrything in evry window . And i dont see it as a waste of time even if the person i made the sig to said; ''dude thats plain ugly, you suck'' becouse atleast i have some new experience to my futher signatures

And btw the thread is vollentairly so if you want someone to use youre sig and not comete with others you dont have to
