Here I will quote what is written on a thread in ascentemu.com
By Trelorn . I didn't find openascent THAT bad . By the way Ascent is still NOT available to the public.Welcome to AscentEmu.com again, everyone. After watching OpenAscent (and numerous other projects) fail miserably, Burlex has decided to revive the home of the Ascent emulator once more.
Does this mean Burlex will be returning to an active developer status? No. His position remains the same: Ascent development from him (and a few others) is on hold while they work on Summit--a closed source version of Ascent. Don't ask for it, you won't get it. In the meanwhile, the community now has a place to develop Ascent further if they wish.
OpenAscent, being the most successful fork of Ascent during it's absence, has had it's commits all merged into the AscentEmu.com repository, which you can find in the announcements section.
With that said, welcome back!
