I think the only effective way to counter that would be changing your rates to compete with theirs as you can't prevent them from price fixing or changing their rates unfortunately.

darkmaouli is right - if now the rates are fixed by you now, you don't need to worry about them.
But, if in the future, you will pull them automatically and propose them ... than you can propose/make very bad deals if you don't dissociate between real offers and price-fixers!

Do you mean I should remove any pre-set rates of the program so it is blank ready for the user to choose? Or am I misunderstanding the point sorry?

Now the settings are in the INI, so is fine.
You can let the defaults as you did, and clearly specify that every user should change with theirs, and frequently modify as those are depending on the market.
But, if you want in the future to take the rates from poe.trade/ ninja than you may(will) pull fake rates from price-fixers!
If you do that, and don't find a smart way to eliminate their offers, .... you will propose the user to buy/sell losing currency!
EX: I will put an offer that I buy Exalts for 10Ch, and if you take that in consideration when you automatically extract the rates, you will propose me to sell Exals for 9-11 ch based on my fake offer.

Perfect explanation, thank you. Yes a very real concern. I think regardless of how it ends up working though I will make sure the user always sets the rates manually so they can see for themselves and base it on that. Otherwise if setting the rates were automatic there would always be someone thinking/saying 'well I didn't want that rate' ha.

Wow, now that its on github I will use this... thanks!
It currently looks like you only have the buy rate option... Do you plan on adding the sell rate?

Excellent, I'm glad of your interest. Indeed, it only has the buy rate for now. The sell rate is a bit irrelevant at the minute because it doesn't handle selling. The user has to sort the selling side. It is something I might add when it gets more advanced though in the sense of it automatically handling selling currency too but at present it isn't something I'm considering as urgent. Hope you enjoy using it.

I'm considering changing the programs name so please see the Strawpoll in the main thread to provide your opinion on it. Thanks

Any chance you'd be able to add exalts and scourings to the list? Want to potentially snag them for cheap if possible.
