Red Alert - is GGG scanning for hacks again?
Looks like GGG might have released something that auto-scans for hacks and it went wacky and started banning/flagging accounts? (that's just an assumption)
Also, looks like a big rollback happened when several RIP's happened and characters spontaneously appeared in the Void League
More trending posts about chars appearing in Void League
Here is Chris stating that "a command that normally works does not any more", in response to the massive Void League
Perhaps they issued a command to ban flagged accts?
I'm just saying, this is very suspicious activity, and I think someone smarter than me should be looking into it.
Edit: my point here is that, something is (wrongly) triggering bans on accounts and characters being wiped (sent to void league). It could be that they're searching/flagging for accts that have hacks, but something in their code is flagging the wrong accounts (seems to be based on leveling up), and wrongly banning those accounts.

Chris confirmed a few hours ago that people posting on reddit asking about why they were banned were indeed banned from a automated cheat detection system. I'd like to believe these people used a maphack and not PoEHUD. The Void League characters was, as far as I know, just a database problem on their end. chris_wilson comments on banned, not sure why
Chris' text is as follows : this is an automatic cheating detection system flagging some players. Maybe they all cheated? Maybe it's broken in some new way? We're investigating and will find out today. Sorry for the delays with resolving this, there's a lot going on.

If I did not reply to you, it mean the question you are asking is stupid.

They've had anti-cheat for ages. But it's been dormant most of its lifetime.

or maybe it just sucked
and now it sucks so bad that it's banning even non-hackers/botters

NO, this is from a system that detects irregular behavior from a client. From scouring through a thread on reddit we know a couple things:
-Leveling triggers a ban in some random cases?
-There's a trading bug that can get you hit for some reason?
-It might be related somehow to leveling and being instantly changed into a level 1 scion?
Bunch of odd stuff, but it appears thousands are being banned by an automated system on their server that is being triggered from trades or leveling.
If this were a client-side detection of "hacks" it would not be based on levels.

As far as I know they've had this since they warned people when the logged in with this message, which was around January 2015. It was put in place to prevent obvious botters. Attachment 55754

I was told it was giving a LOT of false positives, and was hindering their support with influxes of false-bans so they disabled it a long time ago.

Sometime I feel like they love hackers and even they use hacks....

Well, I mean the anti cheat function has literally been in the game for quite a while. It's just never called. I haven't paid much attention to it, it's possible they tweaked it with 3.0 and turned it back on, but it's been in the game for ages, just never called.

WOw. yeah.... about 4 hours after me posting this thread, Chris went to the Reddits and stated it was anti-cheat. very weird. Hope we're all okay.
Here's the new question: Were any of you banned/voided, and if so, what programs are you using?
I'm worried because I wasn't online when the Void bug happened and was rolled back. So I might have been on that flagged list...
