If you don't think it's worth getting banned, then you shouldn't use any 3rd party tools, period. Just assume you'll get caught, regardless of how safe it
might seem at the moment. This is nothing against SKU's work, but rather the category it falls into now.
This is a public hack, with source code, which means they (GGG) can download it and understand exactly how it works. They can then easily sneak in detection code in a future patch, and catch a lot of people off-guard. All they have to do is make sure the update process doesn't break, so whoever updates next and doesn't check, misses the detection code. You can be sure dozens of people have already PMed this thread to the devs, so assume they are already aware of it. People do the same over at the BH forums too. I'm speaking as someone who has had their threads reported many times.

Chris reads all these threads it seems.
There's a lot of little creative things they could add to detect this, without even having to have a real "hack detection". Currently, the client doesn't have "hack detection" per se, but that doesn't mean they can't code in little things that are really hard to find until it is too late. Since they are an indie company and have worked on their game from the ground up, just assume they will do unexpected things if they feel they have to in order to protect their game.
"Fear of the unknown" is currently their best weapon for trying to keep people playing honest and by the rules. If you are the least bit worried about getting banned, then what they are doing is working as intended, and as such, you shouldn't risk getting banned. Just ask yourself, when the bans do start rolling in, do you want a 0% chance to be on the list, or a chance to be on the list?
