I just made it, selected poe folder, yea it works, but I am afraid it will be detected later.
Its weird that maphack is ON even without running any scripts... it scary me.
I mean, I want have the option to turn cheat on or off lol.
there is a "restore defaults" option to remove all changes. maphack and zoom is done by game file edits which is 100% safe to use for years now.
always keep a backup of your game in case something bricks fully on patch day - or be ready to fully re-download the game.

that is in essence correct but the GGG patcher does "mistakes" and the file gets corrupted in some sort of form - being unable to patch the file anymore since the "position" of the file is no longer at the expected value technically speaking. GGG never fixes that since the "corrupted" state of game files does not matter to them when providing the patch themselves.

I’ve just deployed a server side update to address this issue — the "restore defaults" function now attempts to fix the indices of edited files.
default.ggpx as well!

Hey. I come here from time to time to check updates APIs and new releases. I used ExileApi & GameHelper for a quite time now, and wanted to give this a shot as well- especially because of zoom out feature.
The thing is, first we get a antivirus warning. I read your description about it and I'm convinced - still want to try.
Then, I realize that there is someone claiming to be banned over gamefile. I run as a limited user and being using other frameworks for a while now, so I don't think I'll get banned but what I realize is other apps are just reading game's data, while this is editing the gamefile? I am no expert in this, just an user that wants features, but those things combined got me scared to give it a shot.
I'm using this on my Steam acc with 5K hours of playtime, and I definitely don't want to be banned.
Nothing to accuse or anything, but I'm sure there will be players that went through steps I did and have those questions in the mind.
Could you explain the safety of it, especially if it really is different from other frameworks? Why don't the others change gamefile, but this does? Doesn't this make it more likely to be detected?

Thank you very much for the polite message!
The virus detection thing is a bit ridiculous - I cannot change that sadly. Rest assured that all is fine - otherwise we would not be here chatting on an open forum.
Zoomout and Maphack can only be achieved by 4 methods:
1. Game file edit – modifies local files; easy and of course simple. (this app)
2. Memory writing – changes values in RAM at runtime; very risky compared.
3. Render hook – intercepts visuals without changing files or memory; also a bit risky and harder to implement. (no app does that afaik)
4. Client-Side Data Extraction + External Overlay (read-only, no injection - "easily" detectable from a client side anti-cheat point of view - but I am no expert)
Method 1 is being done since the beginning of POE1 and there are no reported bans for specifically that.
Many people are using several tools like bots for example as well - or RMT - and when a ban happens - you simply cannot tell what the real ban reason is logically.
I am not here to judge what method another developer might choose, nor do I know exactly which tool does what method exactly.
Game file edits to achieve zoomout and other effects is the current best practice in terms of safety. My personal opinion at this point in time - don't forget that ^^.
Thanks!

I had some concerns as well, but thank you for the clarification. Everything is working well now, just as described in the video tutorials.

I downloaded it for the first time. Is there a Korean version? I'll use it a little more and if it's good, I'd like to promote it in Korea. I am poe1 user.

simply do not place it in a folder on your desktop - any other place is okay - maybe don't use program files.
choose a neutral folder like you can create -> C:\tools
or use your documents folder which also has no issues with admin rights and similar.

I cannot directly comment on that - but logically there should be nothing wrong with that combination. Assistant does not alter memory in any way - should be all fine.

Can you try a feature that shows what content is on the map? For example, if you open a map to get the Svalin shield, you can see if there is a black knight and a crater on the map.
