I used both methods and haven't been banned yet. I did all of my exploiting last night, though.

Lucky. I did the majority of it last night as well but was stupid enough to do it again this morning, when I saw shards go down in price again. Just did two lessers to complete a normal one, and received a ban within 30 minutes. /facepalm

No ban here yet, and I made some greater weapon enchants, rank 8's... I abused it quite a bit. Guess I'll expect the suspension hammer soon.

I'm pretty sure they banned whoever was stupid enough to place 5 of the same regular or greater enchantments and such up all within seconds of each other.

My friend just created rank 8's and equipped them on his own gear, still got banned.

When an exploit like this goes 'public' you have a very short time to take advantage of it before it becomes dangerous. Once it is known by the Developers they enable systems to track people doing it, and they get banned. It doesn't seem like they go through much effort searching logs to nab people who did it before hand.
