Who told you this? if you look around the difference between powertech and mercenary is that the powertech can be tank and mercenary can be healer, nobody said which is better dmg, its a misconception

Charts told me this as well as theory crafting on few websites including SWTOR and some other fansites.

Topping charts does not imply you are any good, or the spec has max through-output. The reason you see majority of Powertechs being higher on damage then Mercs is due to Mercs being more stationary spec then Powertech, which has more instants and you move about more. Powertech is slightly more defensive where as Mercs are less defensive but tend to output higher damage, at least in PvE.

In PvP on other hand I guess if you are being interrupted and can't unload your damage with Mercs due to having to be more stationary to do some great damage. Hence why Powertechs are great for PvP, more instants and you move around alot more.

Really comes down to personal preference and knowledge about the AC you are playing.

I play Mara and Sorc heals and my Powertech is only level 30 so my knowledge is limited, yet iv read quite few threads about the DPS of PwTch and Merc.

There are also frequently places in each build where you have to put points into a skill that may or may not be overly useful for your talent spec. If you want to move some points around, feel free; again, these are just some suggestions. "

Guess you have pretty terrible players on your server then. Your words are assumptions too, by your logic.

I see you care about me so im pleased to let you know that for now im good thanks, but in the future if they fix the engine i will probably come back (i had 10-15 fps in warzones) Thank you for your concerns.
