they aren't. they are asking you to make your software work after windows made changes.
It's entirely up to you whether you want to do that or not.
The upgrade isnt optional for long though, eventually everyone will get it. So i guess it depends of if THUD continues to function or if the windows update breaks it for good.

I re-phrase: I can't fix Windows...
- DirectX is part of Windows
- HUD uses DirectX and its transparency feature
- HUD runs on Windows
I can't see the entry point where I could fix this

So has windows / directx a problem?

I didn't get the update (because I've blocked the ability for it to), and I'm getting some crazy errors now with TurboHUD. I just lost my Monk in Seasonal Hardcore because TurboHUD froze my PC in the middle of killing things
I haven't gotten a latest version of TurboHUD, and I've double checked to make sure I haven't gotten that update from Win10. I can't seem to figure out what is causing my TurboHUD issues?

if your PC is stable, then HUD is stable. HUD is a managed application and it is technically impossible that HUD crashed your PC.

then I guess we are ****ed. This update will eventually roll out to everyone. It's looking like then that an update to directX has broken THUD permanently if what you say is the case (and you know the most so it must be).

I have to install that update and reproduce the issue first. But the DX related code in HUD is about 100 lines... did you tried to change the directx level flag in HUD's config?

Hi
I have tried to override the directx_feature_level_override flag to all versions for all versions below but unfortunately with no luck
Level_9_1, Level_9_2, Level_9_3, Level_10_0, Level_10_1, Level_11_0, Level_11_1, Level_12_0 (not recommended), Level_12_1
