those instructions do not work, the current problem is different, and they are unnecessary because the version with which you compare your th is still smaller than the current one. https://pastebin.com/raw/4w5AkAsy (extracted from doc\changelog)
also 77.223.80.31 is not ready to receive the appropriate request (one option would be to redirect it to localhost and mount an apache server)
you're spinning something that does not lead anywhere
Hey, keep up the good work guys!
I've never used THUD and literally found out about it and downloaded it and tried to use it about 20 minutes after this latest 99mb patch. (lol)
Fuck off, not talking about waiting for a fix, this is about little punk jackasses who don't' know their ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to how to properly provide instructions, trolling and arguing about piss poor shitty written instructions, trying to play it off as if the instructions are fine...I just showed everything wrong with them.
There you are, custom instruction crafted only for you!
(Please to the others, don't be jealous, it will not work for others, that's very specific to the current case..)
Ok so as people can now see, there is a major difference in both sets of instructions. And the way I have the instructions written are understandable and easy for ANYONE to follow, while the current instructions are too confusing, full of contradictions, and not everyone can follow them.
Well... you added some words to the first instructions set. and added some unnessesary steps to your second instruction set. no wonder its confusing for you.
It never said "notepad document on your desktop" it just said open notepad. its a program on your computer.
3. Open the file named hosts with notepad by renaming hosts to hosts.txt and double clicking on it
You dont have to rename the file. just rightclick and open with notepad.
Learn to read because it's been said already many times already no one is arguing about whether this works or not. The argument is about the clarity of the instructions.

The argument you made wasn't if they were good or not, you said they didn't even work.
That's because you made assumptions instead of doing exactly what the instructions told you.
I'm glad you managed to write yourself a guide that's better for you.
Now stop shitposting saying that no one should ever be allowed to post instructions like that just because you failed at follow them. Doing exactly what they said, got the job done.
Sheez, what a whack job. Always someone else's fault.
Here are those same instructions properly written:
1. Open the etc directory which is located in C:\>Windows>System32>drivers
2. In the etc directory there should be 5 files in it Hosts lmhosts.sam networks protocol services
3. Open the file named hosts with notepad by renaming hosts to hosts.txt and double clicking on it
4. Once you have the hosts file open with notepad, go to the very bottom of the last text line written and press enter to create a new line and copy and paste, or manually type the following number and website onto the new line. (Both the number and pastebin.com must be on the new line in the hosts file. 77.223.80.31 pastebin.com
5. Once you have 77.223.80.31 pastebin.com on the new line, Save it. and just to be safe, remove the .txt extension from Hosts (Reverting it back to it's original way it was before you opened it.

1. I don't have a C:\ drive. What do I do?
2. I have 6 files. What do I do?
I don't have a file named Hosts. Is "hosts" the same?
3. I get a warning when trying to do this. Are you hacking me?
It is still showing the file as just "hosts", not "hosts.txt". It did change the icon however.
It opened up in Wordpad. Is that the same as notepad?
4. How do I create a website?
5. I'm not allowed to save it. Windows is telling me no.
It is already called only hosts. The icon is different compared to the other 5 files I have in that directory.
I cannot go to pastebin.com in my browser anymore. It says nothing is found. I'll try to edit the file some more.
6. Internet stopped working. I'm typing this from a different computer.

Allthough new to this forum i rly was intrigued to sign up and firstly comment on the PC wizz "txt3000" or w/e his name is and complete what enigma said (typed actually) to his response by simply saying that if u don't know where system32 folder is TXT3000 then maybe u have to start all over the freaking basics. Sry if i am quoting u enigma but i'm also not having C:/windows.
If you don't have a C drive then you should already know what to do

Do you think "hosts" is the same as "Hosts" since you don't have a file named "Hosts"? I mean, you are allowed to use your brain...

No more than hacking then what is already happening - but you know this already too...

If you are capable of changing your default directory then you should already know how file extensions work...

You already know that any text editor would work - I opened it in Notepad++

No where in his instruction (even if you are illiterate) does it say "create a website"...

If you weren't allowed to save it, then you can't edit it more and therefor wouldn't have experienced #6 below. No were in his instructions does it say "open a website in your web browser"

You have absolutely failed at making your point. Are you taking the stance that "Hey - this is a side project and he'll get around to properly fixing THud when he as time since he isn't on Blizzards schedule" -or- are you taking the stance that "Don't screw around with things that potentially could be harmful to our computer" which would kind of defeat the entire THud thing (and more importantly the intended audience type) anyways. Either way - why not say that instead of being a complete dumbass.
