Just a "fun" level to kill zombies with names or directors/creator.

Interesting. I was unaware of this area but this is also not the only one. I'm not sure what the limitations/restrictions are behind it but I personally discovered a similar area in Old Tristam. It was a well I have never seen active as an instance before labeled, I *believe* 'Quality Well' and was filled with zombies named after QA people. I didn't notice getting an achieve for clearing it so it is held to a lesser degree by Blizz.

Do note that this is an amazing farming spot for champion and elite packs.

On Hell, I spent a good half hour resetting. I had to sell five times due to the amount of loot I got from JUST killing champion/elite packs. I don't think I saw any purple names, but I got a lot of enemies with ridiculous names.
