Gold Now Sellable on RMAH

This went live on US servers after today's maintenance. Blizzard's price is currently set at a minimum of 0.25 per 100,000, so gold will sell for no less than $2.50 per million. Third party gold will have to remain cheaper, but I wouldn't be surprised if prices increase at least a little.

What remains to be seen is what impact this will have on third party gold sales, and what percentage of gold buyers will actually be willing to pay the higher premium.

With (presumably) massive amounts of gold being listed at the same minimum price, how do they prioritize sales? All in order? So if person 1 and person 2 each list 10M gold, in that order, all of person 1's gold must be bought before person 2 begins to sell his?

Lol the gold prices are flying up in the buy sell trade forum however people fail to realize even though you can list it for 2.5 per million that does not mean it is selling! I listed a few million at the RMAH about an hour ago will see if it sells but I doubt it.

I thought so too, but I had 5 million sell in under an hour. Others on the D3 forum are reporting similar turn arounds. This is going to be interesting!

What's the effect of selling gold in-game compared to botting? Do you think Blizz will be taking an active approach to banning the movement of large amounts of gold on the rmah?

So all you did was transfer to an account that hadn't been botted and sold like that for $1.8/m after fees? Seems pretty sweet.

How do you get to $1.8/m? 2.5*.85=2.125

2.5*0.85*0.85=1.8, because you need to pay 15% blizzard's fee, and after that 15% fee to transfer to paypal.

Ahh right, forgot commodities were handled differently than items, 15% instead of a flat $1 in addition to the normal 15% fee
