VMware wouldn't violate there TOS, the OS running on a VM is just another computer. The originating IPs are the same unless you have multiple modems or connection into the cloud. Have you ever heard of desktop virtualization? There just dumby workstations that are being ran from an ESX host(Linux based OS) aka VMware. This is totally viable for lan centers.

You should research before you say stupid shit. You probably don't even know why companies use virtual machines.

The post just sounds wrong, I will edit it in a second, it's a bit misleading.

    -edit-

Banned on 7/7 on US, using DB and HB.

1 got hit a week ago, then 3 yesterday [i shut down the other 3 immediately] and ran them ~12hrs later. Woke up to the surviving 3 gone too
Sorry for you loss. I wont be surprised if my new bots (2days old) get hit later today haha

More or less what I'm trying to say is don't scare people into believing that there being banned for running d3 on a VM. I work with it for a living and I know for a fact that blizzard can't reliable ban people based on a display driver they're using. Its the people with 10 accounts, same IP adress, all farming the ssme area 24/7. Its highly unlike that you have 20 Asian kids taking 12 hour shifts farming a spot. Get creative people, there's companies out there that will host VMs on hyperv/esx for 20 dollars a month and they have different originating IP addresses. If youre making 2k a month 20 even 100 dollars is nothing.

I edited it to be more precise, my apologies, sometimes I too direct in what I mean and the point gets lost in translation.

offcourse they can't ban just for that, just that it might be the common link to easily detect who is botting (outside 24/7 in the same zone)

Vmware = sent to further review

Who says they can't ban for that? They already set a precedent for it when they banned various users because of WINE. It may be true (since we can't prove otherwise) that they are banning because they detect use in a VM or that they are flagging for checks by staff into behavior. None of us knows for sure either way and it's all theory. All I am doing is just throwing it out there. But to make a definitive statement and say they can't ban for something is just silly.

I only suggested it because it seems like people that are banned are using tons of bots at once. I know from my personal experience that I do not use VMware and up to about 3 days ago when this started I botted 24/7 so far with no bans.

If you are not using bot, why do you have to play it on VMware ?

And yes, it's easy for them to detect if you play on an Virtual machine or not. Anybody who plays Crossfire from Z8games should know this when trying to play the game on a virtual machine.

    That's the point.

VMware will exclude urself from copying d3 and running multi client - if that's not ur forte. Also some people might be scared to run multi-client from the same MAC address, therefore running it in a VM is safer if they have that way of thinking.

VMware is so vastly used - it's hard for blizzard to ban based on that.... ie.. what happens if ur running VMware in the background for other purposes - playing d3 shouldn't lock ur computer to just that program. I am sure if blizzard was really strict... running skype could be a ban from third party software.

No one is arguing the using VMware will get you banned. What they are saying is that it could be a flag to investigate your account.

Have US bans stopped for this week? Anyone banned in US today? If so then that's about the same as last week.
