Question regarding gold buying

How safe is it to buy - every once in a while - some gold from a private seller? Can blizzard detect it? Given they'll catch the seller sooner or later and most likely ban him.

Is there any way to make it safe'ish? Like put some item for sale for a very high price, for the gold provider to buy?

Private sellers are hard to judge. Most are probably legit, but then there are scammers. So when buying, try not to look for anything that looks too good to be true. And then there's the scammer thread. Oh yea, then ofcourse rep/site rank and such is also a good indicator. Usually (not always) more trustable then someone that made his account yesterday. Comments on that person helps, and ofcourse by reputated people and not people created their account yesterday.

As for how safe it is for buying, well, blizzard usually goes for those that sells. Those who moves a large amount of gold. They cant really keep track of everyone, but there's never a guarantee.
You could ofcourse do a AH trade, but keep in mind that other people might have put something similar there, and also AH takes a 15% cut.

honestly if blizzard really cared if people buy gold or not, they'd police the forums and remove / ban all the people doing it....
