There was a thread about this on mmo-c. Someone linked a yogscast video where a D3 dev said the first lvl 60 was some guy named Nick (something) and then the caster said "Sorry Athene. Guess the race is already over."
So it's just Athene whoring for attention as always. I guess since there's no ladder and achievements don't have timestamps he didn't think anyone would be able to disprove it.

I don't like that guy, after being in the spotlight for so long he still fails on basic stuff. Last Dragon Soul race he didn't know half the abilities, nor did his commentary help. Watched this vid and just classic. I don't like his style, even if it's for charity.

Hes not like Hydra & Kalimist or any of the other professional wow players, Ive seen some of his movies and he is nothing but an entertainer when it comes to wow. Decent pvp/pver not a pro =)

I agree. Although Athene as a character is a terribly annoying person, he's doing great things. I also don't think you can say that someone doesn't have a life because he makes his money doing stuff like this. If he's the first person to hit 60, good for him, I applaud the persistence. As long as he's having fun doing what he does, there's no reason to say he has no life.

Exactly...what makes you think that he's not just scamming people out of their money when he's willing to attention whore and do pretty much whatever to get attention.
